  • Tar Heels 97, Michigan State 63: And so it was written: the Team of Destiny would march into the Mostly Empty Football Stadium in the Economically Depressed Zone and brush aside the visiting home team to help win the Great Challenge against the (ha ha!) Big Ten. Tyler Hansbrough and Ty Lawson looked incredible, eleventy billion points, a trillion rebounds, etc. The Team of Destiny will go home and take a ten day interval to concentrate on their studies (ha ha!), and host Oral Roberts a week from Saturday. We will miss them.
  • Oklahoma City 97, Bobcats 103: Nothing like having the most futile team in the league swing through to give you that little boost you need. Sean May had a double-double — wait, let me check that — yes, 10 points and 11 rebounds, it qualifies! Emeka Okafor also had a double-double (25 and 13), and the ‘Cats big men produced. That’s Coach Larry Brown basketball! The ‘Cats visit Milwaukee on Friday night.

I was also seriously distracted by that platform court. I’m hoping that was the temporary solution because the Lions are still allegedly playing football in there, and they’ll have a proper floor (and people in the seats) for the Final Four.
