  • UNC Asheville made their yearly trip to Chapel Hill (”Hey they finally put something in the old Wicked Burrito building.” “Did you know School Kids closed?”) and ended up on the business end of a 116-48 spanking at the hands of the number one Tar Heels. Carolina sat player of the year Tyler Hansbrough but that didn’t really make a difference as Ty Lawson scored 22 along with 8 assists and Danny Green hit six straight threes in the second half.
  • Carolina broke off a big return and a big pass with less than 2 minutes to play to beat Green Bay 35-28. The Packers took a 31-28 lead on a field goal with 1:57 left, but the Panthers returned the ensuing kickoff 45 yards and then Jake Delhomme hit Steve Smith with a 54 yard pass that set up DeAngelo Williams’s fourth touchdown of the game.
  • The Canes lost to the Anaheim Disney-tie-ins 4-1. Your editor doesn’t really know hockey, but the higher scores are good and Carolina hasn’t had many of the recently.
